Jeff is the basest of my favorite NYC indie bands and avid rock historian. As a young New Yorker we met in an odd building on a Hill in Jersey City. Soon after we would become roommates and it was there that the my love of 60's modernism and his love of 60's Rock in Roll wold combine and his volumes of book many with amazing imagery would lay the ground work for the By Robert James style. We would sit together for hours and he would tell me wha he wanted. He would return from Europe with amazing new clothes form Elefant tours and I would used those influences to inform my style and design. Jef as well as Cobra would become my muse. I form a brand informed by what he wanted melding the structure and clean lines and quality I loved with a flare fit for the stage and the toughness the could endure the road.
