ROBERT JAMES AND CREEM MAGAZINE: “Americaʼs Only Rock

ʻNʼ Roll Magazine”

October 19th, 2010 (New York, NY) – Beloved LES menswear brand, By Robert James [BRJ], and iconic music journal CREEM Magazine: “Americaʼs Only Rock ʻNʼ Roll Magazine” announced their first annual Fall Fashion & Rock event. A showcase of young up and coming bands will take the stage in BRJʼs new Fall 2010 line at Red Bull space in Soho on Saturday, October 23rd, 2010 during CMJ.

The idea for the event was developed this past summer at Jamesʼ birthday BBQ when a myriad of young bands played, hung out, ate burgers and drank beer in the designerʼs back yard. “The BBQ was such a great time with all our friends around so we wanted to duplicate the same inspired vibe during CMJ at a larger space with a half dozen of our favorite bands” said James. Since many pieces of his Fall line were inspired from images in the CREEM book it made sense to partner with them.

"BRJ and CREEM teamed up for this event because of what BRJ's Fall line represents and the timing of us rolling out CREEM as a music network and discovery platform." said Jason Turner, Chairman of CREEM James will be styling each band blending their personal style with looks from his Fall collection. James will shoot his Fall ad campaign at the event to capture the essence of his brand which is music, friends, the community and a good time. By Robert James will re-create his storefront space within the venue and display the Fall collection on mannequins, as well as customers, friends and bands. The space will also include a lounge area where bands and celebrity interviews will take place amongst an open bar, photo booth and custom guitar showcase by Cobra Guitars.
